“THERE IS NOTHING ‘GIFTED’ about being able to sight a straight Line of Aim - we can all do it, especially when shown how!”
Stephen Feeney

THE ‘EYES RULE’

Inadvertently sighting off the intended line of aim in any way, even marginally, is like being blindfolded on the shot! You will not be accurately ‘seeing’ what you should be!

Our Eyes feed our brains constantly with very clear information. If you are sighting across your line of aim you will instinctively know – even if initially unaware or you feel unable to do anything about it!! Awareness and perception instinctively take over, and body movement on the shot almost invariably follows.

You see this in other players on the Golf Course or in Snooker Clubs, Pool Halls and Pubs – head movement, legs shifting, all parts of the body moving to try and help the shot go in! Why? Because they instinctively knew they were not seeing the shot – and that failure, or likelihood of failure was inevitably going to follow!

SIGHTING LINE: There has been a lack of understanding by many Players and Coaches I have met, (including top Coaches), around the importance of identifying a Players’ TRUE and PRECISE ‘Sighting Line’.

Our ‘Sighting Line’ is the Line of Aim we SEE using BOTH EYES together, regardless of dominance - and it is this crucial and important Sighting knowledge a Player, his Coach, (and Caddy) should know, without question or doubt.

ACCURATE SIGHTING or GUESSWORK?

With this insight, I have questioned top Coaches and Players in these sports as to:

  • HOW they have been able to confirm, without any doubt, that they or their Student is ACCURATELY Sighting and really SEEING the correct Line of Aim of the shot.
  • and then HOW have they enabled themselves and a Player to SEE, without any doubt that they ARE ACCURATELY Sighting along their TRUE Line of Aim?

Until I invented SightRight®, and even since, I haven’t been able to find a single Coach who could confirm and show this to a Player!

Now this ‘mystical’ help in Sighting is available to all!

SIGHTRIGHT® lets the Player see what the Coach has not been able to show for about the same cost as 1 or 2 Coaching Sessions!

SO, WHY DO PLAYERS SUFFER SIGHTING & ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS?

There are many reasons why a Player in these sports, from Beginner to Professional level, will suffer Sighting Alignment problems, commonly known as ‘sighting across the line of aim’ – or Parallax Error.

Below are just a few of them:

  • Bad Habits,
  • Experimentation with Technique,
  • Changes in Eyesight,
  • Poor Coaching and Inaccurate Eye Dominance Assessments,
  • lack of understanding by Coaches in determining a Players’ true Sighting Line (using both eyes),
  • and Wrong Size Equipment, particularly in the case of Putter Lengths.

I come across so many players where a shorter 32” Putter helps them more than the ‘shelf’ size 35” Putter. The longer standard Putter is one of the main causes of a player taking up a stance away from the line of the shot.
