Sadly confusion over Sighting Alignment and Eye Dominance still exists in the Coaching World.

There are millions of Coaching books around the world, in all of the above Sports, covering the important aspect of Sighting and Eye Dominance - and yet Players at all levels, continue to pay fortunes in Coaching fees in search of accurate Eye Dominance assessment and perfect Sighting to improve their game!

Most Coaching material about Eye Dominance and Sighting will tell you that:

• in order to deliver a projectile in a certain direction accurately, the individual should be looking in the same direction, along the intended path of the shot.
• the ‘dominant eye’ should be over the shot. Or for Putting – the ‘head’ or ‘eyes’ should be over the ball.

All of this seems very straightforward and indeed most Coaches and Academies coach their own level of expertise in these very same principles. Why then are so many players, including Top Pros, still sighting across their ‘Line of Aim’ (i.e. have Parallax error) to varying degrees, and therefore effectively looking in another direction whilst playing their shot?

Accurate Eye Dominance assessment and perfect Sighting and Alignment are so fundamentally important in all Sports requiring pinpoint accuracy. And sports such as Golf (especially Putting) Snooker, Pool and Darts demand pinpoint accuracy in all pre shot sighting routines before the shot or stroke, when taking up a stance position, and during the shot or stroke.

I have studied the causes of inaccurate sighting and poor pre-shot sighting routines in Players at all levels in these sports – from Beginners to Pros. There are many reasons for sighting and alignment errors, (changes in eyesight, bad habits, inaccurate eye dominance assessment by coaches, and wrong size equipment to name but a few) and sadly I have come across coaches who give it no heed what –so –ever and just adopt the so called ‘natural ability’ theory – ‘you’ve either got it or your haven’t!’

Problems in these areas have been the cause of limits to a players’ ability, and seemingly inexplicable losses of form in Top Professionals and World Champions! (see Testimonials).
